Todd's Take

Welcome to our worship service! Whether you're a longtime member or a first-time visitor, we're glad you're here.

Today we continue our series through Philippians 3:12–14, taking on the fourth of six phrases. Last week Paul admitted honestly that he has not yet made the prize his own. Today's phrase is his answer — not despair, but direction. Philippians 3:13b:

"But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead."

We all carry something behind us — a failure we can't let go of, or a success we've quietly settled into. Either can hold us in place. Paul refuses both, pressing forward with one hand open behind him and one hand reaching ahead. Today we'll look at what it means to truly let go of the past — good and bad — and strain with everything we have toward what God has set before us. The Christian life was never meant to be a stroll; it's a race, run one faithful step at a time, always facing forward.

Glad you're here as we press on together — to worship, to fellowship, to remember the Lord's sacrifice, and to reflect on Paul's words to the church in Philippi.
